Phalaenopsis, also known as the butterfly orchid, is a tropical plant prized for its beautiful, colorful flowers that can last for months. It requires moderate indirect light and grows best at temperatures between 18-24°C. It is important to water it once a week, letting the roots dry out between waterings to prevent rotting. The ideal substrate is a well-aerated one, specific to orchids, such as tree bark. Fertilization is done monthly, with a diluted fertilizer, especially for orchids. Phalaenopsis prefers high humidity, so lightly misting the leaves helps maintain a favorable environment. Cutting off wilted flowers stimulates new blooms. It is essential to periodically check the plant for pests and diseases and treat it accordingly. Transplanting is done every 2-3 years to ensure a fresh and healthy environment for the roots.
